The current Corona Virus pandemic took the academic world by surprise. Universities and ministries of education were at different degrees of preparedness for the rapid transition to full remote learning. The view and stand of academia, especially in developing countries, towards ICT in education has leaped forward and has achieved in days or months what would have taken years. This has resulted in an educational cyber world that is inclusive of all countries and almost all economic levels. The hardships and challenges are multiple and varied. These challenges include all stakeholders, administrators, academic staff, students, parents, policy makers, ISPs and employers. The hardships included the areas of policy making, regulation adjustment, teacher readiness, student abilities and assessment methods. All stakeholders were also at different degrees of preparedness for this change. This special session aims at addressing the challenges faced and the solutions provided for the rapid transition to remote learning. Papers can address the gap existing at the time of the decision to lockdown the campuses or cities and also how the problems were addressed and the results of these new policies, processes or solutions. Emphasis will be on the delivery issues and the assessment issues in addition to the environment, circumstances, infrastructure, and policies affecting them.
